Revenge isn’t worth the effort or price
Burning my soul to ashes for a fleeting moment of punishment while asking God to forgive my debt
Corny Hollywood lines like God forgives but I don’t sound so cool until you burn
Fully deceived thinking my argument before Lord Christ Jesus will somehow change his mind
Nowhere in the Bible does it say it’ll be easy but it’s necessary to become love
Charity above my will and defense and disregard are two oceans away.

Oh please don’t add my iniquities up
Please don’t hold them in front of me against me
I’m begging for sanctification instead of wrath and indignation
Mercy and grace instead of cursed then cut down without a trace of you.

More serious than public opinion
More significant than comfort
More urgent than popularity
More pressing than my circumstances.

Vengeance is the Lord’s
He’ll repay
Not gonna fall from grace
Because somebody had a bad day
Trying me
