There’s a lack of worth,
Missing puzzle pieces,
Heart too bare,
Disconnected wires pulled out,
Swaying in dead air.

I sing until tears make my mouth a riverbed,
Somehow pain and confidence loss I do dread,
Creeps under still water,
Just when you think it deceased,
Once again trumpets sound,
Battle the beast.

A little frightened,
I shouldn’t be,
But I’m battling enemies,
Seeming larger than the sea.
